Abstract

The growth in the number of Dentists, increased competition for patients and the drop on direct disburses bring about strategic responses from the professionals creating dental cooperatives or dental groups companies. Based on a literature review, this paper shows the role of the dental auditor as an indispensable agent to all kinds of assistance,
defining their characteristics, their profiles, their areas of work, and their conflicts, the main point of the analysis being the discussion of their operation within the health care system. We conclude that the Dentist Auditor plays an important role in the auditing process and that they need to be permanently trained to perform their duties.
