Automated tools: the reflex of the technological evolution in Dentistry

Abstract

Informatics and digital technology have transformed the humanity habits and it could not be different in the dental field. Automated equipments allow for greater practicality and quickness of clinical procedures, assist in achieving a more accurate diagnosis and act such as powerful marketing tool that differentiates the dentist facing an increasingly competitive market. The aim of this study was to report some automated devices and new technologies with application in the dental field, demonstrating the benefits they provide for the professional and their patients. Data was obtained on equipment manufacturer and representative websites by internet searching tools. It was observed that automated equipments available in the dental market present significant clinical applications, maximizing the quality of the procedure and minimizing treatment time.
