Using the technique of ultrasonic abrasion in pediatric dentistry

Abstract

A breakthrough has occurred in clinical making, improvement occurs in restorative techniques. An example is the system with ultrasonic tips CVD that has been the subject of various researches and its application has been trying to address the shortcomings of conventional diamond burs. The technique for wearing teeth is through vibration, resulting in less noise, heat and pressure. The technique of ultrasonic abrasion has been used in pediatric dentistry, as well as in several areas of dentistry because of its indications and advantages. Thus, this study aimed to review the literature onto the main features of using ultrasonic abrasion, as an alternative method of caries removal in pediatric patients.
