Stress analysis by finite elements in short implants with angle pillars

Roberto Brunow Lehmann, Marcelo Fontes Teixeira

Abstract

Studies about the short dental implants are growing around, showing that the using of these devices can be a trend. This study aimed to evaluate the stresses suffered by bones surrounding short implants with angled pillars, submitted to axial and oblique loads. The results show that there is no fail in the prosthetic system evaluated for any loads applied since the stress are at the lower of the limit of the materials used, and to the cortical bone, are below the recommended by the literature for occurring bone resorption.
