Condition of first permanent molar: evaluation after 3 years
Abstract
The aim of this research was to establish the condition of first permanent molar after 3-year of an initial exam. Caries index and clinical and radiographic diagnosis of this element were verified. From the original sample – M1 (n = 49), 26 children were evaluated in M2. Clinically, was observed that 66,4% of the first molars of M2 (n = 104) were sound, 6,7% were cavited, and 26% were restored; 79 molars could be radiographically evaluated in both moments. Fifty-three of them (67,1%) remained sound. It was concluded that most of the first permanent molars clinical and radiographically evaluated in both moments were sound. The incidence of caries involvement of oclusal surface was equal to
