Identification of the systemic arterial hypertension and risk factors in patients from the Oral Surgical Clinic of the Dental School of Faesa

Abstract


The dentist, in his dental practices, frequently comes across with systemic committed patient. The present study was carried out to analyze the arterial pressure and risk factor in 174 patients assisted at the clinics of surgery in the Dental School of Faesa. The results showed that 2/3 of the studied groupe presented arterial hypertension, and among then, 47,29% did not know about their health condition. The most common risk factors were obesity, sedentary life and mellitus diabetes, reinforcing the necessity to correlate the medical history and the habits of the patients to establish a differential diagnosis and carrying the patient to a better assistance.
