Abstract

This paper is a literature review of the combination syndrome, first described by Kelly in 1972. This clinical condition affects patients with upper dentures that antagonize Kennedy’s class I arch. It is characterized by intense bone resorption in pre--maxillary region due to inadequate chewing habits.
There are therefore a number of pathologies that complete the syndrome. A correct diagnosis and treatment can prevent or attenuate disease progression. The indication of pre-prosthetic surgery, conventional prostheses or implants will depend on the specific condition of the patient.
