Abstract

Considering the importance of establishing more adequate planning and effective development of the actions in the oral health of Várzea da Palma-MG, this study aimed to analyze the oral condition of 380 school (5-6 years old) and support actions in favor of quality of services. It was observed that 47.5% of the children did not show dental caries. When considering only first permanent molars (70.0% erupted), the presence of caries was lower (27.6%). The results suggest that health promotion activities generated positive changes, however, the goals of the WHO-2010 were not met. In order to increase solvability of these actions, health education will be promoted, through more relaxed and inclusive methods, such as direct guidance associated with audio visual resources.
