Abstract

It has been shown that histopathological classifications assist in the analysis of the degree of malignancy in oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC). This work reviewed the profile of 44 patients diagnosed in INCA in 1999 and applied WHO classification and Histopathological Risk Assessment (HRA), associating them with clinicopathological features. Most OSCC were classified as moderately differentiated (WHO) and intermediate-risk (HRA). No statistically significant correlation was found between clinicopathological features and WHO and HRA analysis. Studies comprising a larger sample are necessary to validate results found here.
