Abstract

The objective of this study was to evaluate the influence of the metallic alloy on the flexibility of endodontic instruments. Endodontic instruments used were K-type, size 40 and 45, stainless steel and NiTi with 25 mm in length and 0.02 taper. The flexibility of the instruments was determined by a bending test in cantilever. Based on the experimental results, we can conclude that the NiTi Ktype instruments were more flexible and less rigid than the corresponding stainless steel one.
