Use of personal protection equipment by dentistry graduates in the control of crossed infection

Abstract

Our objective was to assess the behavior of dentistry graduates in fighting crossed infection. It were applied 117 questionnaires with students from the 5th to the 9th semester. The answers were submitted to descriptive analysis with qui-square association and exact of Fisher (p=0,05) tests. 22,22% of interviewees always use all the EPIs, 70,9% don’t avoid touching surfaces when with gloves; 85,2% wash theirs hands before and after service, 15,7% believe that gloves don’t have any micro orifice and all use liquid soap and paper towel. The results showed that the graduates don’t follow the measures of control of crossed infection adequately.
