Abstract

It has been done a systematic review of the influence of anti-inflammatory drugs and diet on bone physiology and tooth movement. The analyzed works showed that when different groups of drugs are used for a long time, bone remodeling is seen, although the rate of tooth movement also depends on drugs kinetics parameters and animal basal metabolism. This relationship is not linear, being important to the orthodontist a precise clinical case proposal and radiographic control, in order to reach an individualized orthodontic treatment in patients that use continuous systemic medications.
