Knowledge and importance attached to curricular contents of Oral Pathology by Dentistry students and dentists

Abstract


This study aimed to evaluate the knowledge and importance attached to curricular contents of Oral Pathology by Dentistry students and dentists. The sample comprised 113 dentists and 55 senior Dentistry students in Rio de Janeiro /Brazil. Questionnaires and an exam form with ten multiple choice questions were applied to students and dentists. The responses were analysed on a descriptive perspective. The curricular contents of Oral Pathology considered the most rele¬vants were the viral and bacterial infections, the dental and oral structures development alterations and the pulpal and periapical pathologies.
