Abstract

The muscular Disorders are usually present in the Disfunção Temporomandibular (DTM). The main symptoms includes pain and swelling usually originated f rom t issue i njury a nd i nflammation. T He treatment of DTM can be relied on support treatment for relief of symptoms or definitive elimination of the causes and perpetuate factors. The use of anti-
-inflammatory (AINEs), muscle relaxants, occlusal plane, herbal with anti-inflammatory action as Arnica montana is suitable as treatment. Arnica Montana has been used for reduction of inflammation and pain caused by sprain, bruises and wounds. Its main action is inhibition of the cellular transcription factor NF-kB.
