Abstract

The objective of this study was to verify the hypothesis that there is no difference in the performance of composite orthodontic apart as fluoride release. Two orthodontic composites: Group SB (Superbond, OrthoSource) and UB Group (Ultrabond, Aditek) and a glass ionomer cement (GIC) conventional orthodontic: Group S (Sumo, OrthoSource) as a control were tested. Fluoride release was measured during 28 days (1h, 24h, 1, 3, 7, 14, 21 and 28 days) through ion-selective electrode connected. There was statistical difference between groups with SB and UB group S at all times evaluated (p < 0.05). It can be concluded with the completion of that work and Ultrabond Superbond composites showed a similar performance to each other, but not significant compared to the MIC.
