Analysis of oral health and self elderly in different population groups

Abstract


This study aimed to analyze the self-perception of oral health and older people, observing their oral characteristics, presence or absence of disease, use and / or need for dentures, comparing outcomes among different population groups. Participants were 150 elderly: 50 Clinic College of Dentistry Presidente Prudente-SP (G1), 50 task forces on health (Presidente Prudente-SP) (G2) and 50 in Julius Borges-PI (G3). Statistically, there was no difference between them as the index GOHAI. Both had low results, and great necessity of using prostheses. There was a similarity between the G2 and G3 for DMFT. The rates of self-reported oral health are important as they lead patients to seek care, however showed poor relationship with the oral conditions
