Abstract

The frequency of water and beverage intake can represent an important exposure to oral health; however, there is a lack of assessment instruments to
be applied at population level. This study aimed to compare a self-administered instrument on water and beverage intake by teenagers with 24-hour dietary
recalls. The estimates obtained from the instrument were compared to 24-hr recalls as a standard reference. It concluded that the values provided by the
indirect measure similar to that tested in this study, should be considered with caution while there are no more accurate instruments.
