Abstract

The objective was investigated and compare the blood pressure variances in hypertensive and regular blood pressure patients who went thru dental surgery at ambulatory environment. The sample was made of two different groups: Regular Blood Pressure Group and Hypertensive Group (with 8 individuals on each group). Patients were evaluated by Blood Pressure Ambulatory Monitoring for 24 hours. The readings observed at the exam were divided in 5 moments: sleep, Pre-Operatory, Trans-Operatory, Post-Operatory and Follow Up. There was a signi?cant increase observed at the Blood Pressure reading at the Trans-operatory of the Regular Blood Pressure group (p = 0,02) and the Hypertensive Group (p = 0,04). During the trans-operatory it was observed a signi?cant increase of the Blood Pressure on both groups, but the Hypertensive Group kept their numbers elevated for a longer time.
