Dental bleaching: a new perspective

Abstract

Several are the causes of darkening of vital teeth, such as: intrinsic and extrinsic stains. Depending on the type, degree of alteration, etiology and the patient’s collaboration, a favorable prognostic can, most of the
time, be ascribed. Today, bleaching is accomplished in
a single session, using diode laser and LEDs (Light
Emitting Diodes). Two applications of 35% Hydrogen
Peroxide are usually made, the activator being potentialized
by the application of LEDs and dental sensitivity
controlled by the concomitant application of the therapeutic
diode laser.
