Prosthetic solution to edentulous patient in puberty

Abstract


The indication of complete denture in adolescence is rare, but it is necessary when premature teeth loss occur. The making and indication of the complete denture in patients during growth phase is a great concern and so the prosthesis can be a limiting factor of growth of maxillaries. The aim of this work is to present the clinical case of a 13 years-old total edentulous patient. Complete denture with expanders have been confectioned. The control was periodic for the activation of the expanders. This treatment has proven successful returning the function to the patient, as well as aesthetically and socially.
