Evaluation of patients’ acceptance of mouthwashes use and pH study of different solutions
Abstract
The aim of this work was to verify different mouthwashes pH and the patients’ opinions about the mouthwashes. 50 patients have rinsed 5 different solutions - Cetilpiridine
chloride associated with sodium chloride, triclosan, enzymatic solution, essential oil and distilled water. The patients were submitted to clinical examination, mouthwashing
and questionnaire application were performed. We observed that the four commercial marks of mouthwashes tested had presented acid pH and that the values between analog and digital pHmeters were different. The mouthwashes with best acceptance were cetilpiridine chloride associated with sodium chloride and enzymatic solution.
